Stress, Overwhelm, Overthinking, worry
^^ Really common these things now aren’t they
Seems the world is running around trying to frantically keep up with life
Too much to do, not enough time to do it.
Always in the future predicting the worst case scenario
Forever ticking off our to do list only to create another one the next day..
And it’s one of the main reasons our well being, health, wealth and relationships struggle..
The buzz word right now is ‘self care’
Well technically that was two words, but hey its my post I’ll do what I like 🤣
Self care days are getting popular, and I like it.
But…
I mean there is always a ‘but’
It’s all a bit reactive don’t you think..
We spend 5-6 days a week feeling stressed, worried and on the edge of burnout
Only to think that maybe taking an afternoon to ourselves, or getting a massage, or a trip out is going to solve it all..
You get bonus points if you share it on your story as well 🙄🤣
The reality though is it just takes the edge off.
It just numbs the symptoms of stress for a while.
It’s basically the crash diet of stress management
Am I saying its bad? No..
Get those self care days in there
Just don’t forget to treat the cause, because like all things stress is a habit, and it gets wired in to your brain from repeated exposure every day
So stress reactions become automatic and THAT is what we need to start changing.
Those daily little reactions and habits that are keeping us stuck in some kind of stress loop..
We all have them, we just have to notice what they are and start working on them
When we do that and add on top daily little habits that encourage us to live healthier like
Hydrating
Moving more
Breathing well
Sleeping deeper
Getting outside
Having meaningful conversations and connections
All of a sudden we are flying
Because no amount of self care days will make up for a terrible lifestyle and awful stress habits
Self care is a lifestyle
Not an occasional fix.
