‘It’s not the right time’
Funny how that thought pops up a lot when we are trying to change something don’t you think?
Too busy right now…
Too tired
Not in the right headspace
In a great headspace
Mad how we can find a reason why not to do the things that we know would help us..
Maybe it’s because we are obsessed with perfection, that we end up thinking that this perfect time is coming where it will be easier?
The reality of course is that there is no perfect time to start something and we
don’t need time to be ‘perfect’ at all
That’s a little story we tell that leads us to making no changes
They say the best time to plant a tree is a 100 years ago or today
But like our goals
The key is to get going knowing that whether things are good, bad, busy,
slow whatever
That today is always a good day to work on our wellbeing and future
Another thought that pops up tends after the I can’t because ____ one tends to be
I’ll do it next time, week, month etc..
All that time wasted waiting that could of been used to just get going..
I read a quote somewhere that roughly said how arrogant it is for us to take for granted that we will get a ‘next’ time
A little direct, maybe even morbid
BUT a nice reminder…
Today.
Now.
This moment.
Start taking steps.
No matter how small. No matter how imperfect they all add up..
And who knows where they will lead..
