Do you remember the advert that was about giving money to a certain charity?

‘Give a Man a Fish and he can feed his family for a day, give a man a net and a means to Fish and he can feed them for life’

Well… I do.

And every time I think of it, it reminds me to write about this.

A topic called Skills V’s Supplies

Basically SKILLS beat supplies..

Because supplies run out, but with skills you can always create more..

And this is why modern society has a huge mental, physical and emotional well being problem..

Because we don’t teach skills we just talk, that and try and remove all discomfort from life itself

Except as we all know – Life contains huge amounts of discomfort we have
no control over..

And then what? What do we do then, when we find we lack that abilities to deal with that

I was told its now ‘normal’ for people to be Anxious, depressed and suffering
mentally

It’s the norm.

Well if that is the norm where did we go wrong?

Because by normal people mean common, and most likely accepted

So mental struggle is now just the accepted normal

The day to day average.. regardless of what’s going on great or indifferent this is the normal

It’s like we took the ‘Its OK to not be OK’ slogan and just allowed it to mean

Yeah its OK to feel that way – Craic on as you are, its normal

It sure is OK to not be OK.. but let’s not forget it also SUCKS.

And that it doesn’t mean we have to accept it for the rest of our lives or even ‘manage’ it

We can all shift to feel slightly better

SKILLS that can transform our abilities, wellbeing and health as well as allow us to create better..

Giving us confidence in OURSELVES..
Confidence that we can overcome life’s struggles
