So this week I have young Charlie boy staying
And I’ve been dragging along with me each morning on my run and all the
other stuff I do..
Anyways
He has this terrible hairstyle (apparently it’s cool)
And I have this cool beard (apparently it’s terrible)
So yeah we have a bet
If he can make it through the run without stopping by Friday I’ll let him shave my beard off
If not..
He’s getting his do sorted out..
Flash back to Monday and we are running when every few minutes he drops back and then has to catch up..
Trouble is catching up is exhausting as it takes loads of energy right?
So as soon as he does he’s back to dropping back again
After a mile or so of this he learnt his first valuable lesson
It’s easier to keep up than it is to catch up
Which is exactly the same in anything in life
It takes way less energy to keep progressing mentally, emotionally and physically than it does to keep dropping back and catching up
Trouble is for most we are always reacting and trying to catch up..
Hence the constant exhaustion
It’s why we built our Unbreakable Programs around daily solid habits that people can do forever
Because then there is no catching up to be done it’s just all progress
As an old coach of mine used to say
‘if it’s important – Do it every day’
