I started working with Simon in 2016, after first going to his fitness classes in 2014 seeking a way of raising my energy following the death of my Nan and the breakdown of an unhealthy relationship. My mum and I went to bootcamps on and off for a while before Mum dragged me along to the first ever ‘6 Week Supermum Project’ – I was 20, and not a mum
It was a weekend talking through where we were, where we wanted to be and how we might get there, and a decent hill walk thrown in for good measure. But I can wholeheartedly say that it is the best thing my very own Unbreakable Supermum has done for me.
After being part of the Unbreakable groups for a little while, I managed to convince Simon to let me work within Unbreakable. At the time I was working as a carer in a home specialising in Huntington’s Disease and Acquired Brain Injury.
I started off helping people onto ‘bootcamps’, ordering kit, replying to emails…
The Unbreakable group at the time probably only had 14 people in it, I helped organise events, send out kit and journals, and answer any and all questions!
Now – the Unbreakable community has grown to 150 people, and my job has changed a little over the years!
I still help organise the events, organise sending the kit, journals and supplements, and answer any and all questions that come my way. I also keep the community accountable, have 1:1 calls with people who have questions about the systems we use, their vision, and offer a space to talk. Since working with Simon I’ve started courses in counselling, currently holding a L1 in counselling skills, and awaiting normality to continue learning.
